8-Year NBA Veteran Heads Overseas
Following three fairly uneventful 10-day contracts this season, it appears that 31-year old, 8-year NBA veteran James Ennis III is taking his talents overseas.
Ennis has agreed to a substantial deal with Hapoel Haifa in the Israeli Baskeball Premier League.
The 6'6" swingman has played for 10 teams in his eight years in the NBA. He's averaged 6.7 points and 3.3 rebounds over that time, and is a career 36% shooter from three-point range. He can also guard multiple positions on defense.
Leaving the door open for a return
His best year in the NBA came just last season, when he averaged 8.4 points, 4 rebounds and 1.5 assists with the Orlando Magic, while shooting a blistering 43% from beyond the arc.
Ennis joins former NBAer Kadeem Allen on Haifi, a team currently with a 9-8 record, but on track to make the playoffs.
Ennis says he "plans to leave the door open" for a return to the NBA.
