Celtics Keeping 2 Players Around
The Boston Celtics are set to sign Kelan Martin and Malik Fitts each to a second 10-day deal.
Both Martin and Fitts played in just one game for Boston during their first 10-day contracts. With that, they also played three minutes each. Needless to say, the sample size has been immensely small, but the Celtics clearly have been impressed by them to give them each another deal.
Martin began this season with the Indiana Pacers. In 27 games, which included one start, he averaged 6.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists. Although he did have some solid moments, the Pacers opted to waive him before his contract became guaranteed.
Fitts started this season as a two-way player with the Utah Jazz. In seven games with the team, he averaged 0.9 points and 1.4 rebounds. However, just like Martin, he found himself waived earlier this campaign, too.
Nevertheless, Martin and Fitts will now have another chance to impress the Celtics from here.
