Celtics Sign Veteran Guard

The Boston Celtics have signed Nik Stauskas to a two-year contract.

Stauskas signed a 10-day contract with the Miami Heat and appeared in two games for them. In them, he averaged 5.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 0.5 assists. Overall, he handled himself pretty well, and this is especially true when noting that he hadn't been in the league since the 2018-19 campaign before it. Now, he has cemented himself a spot in the NBA for not only the rest of this year but next season, too.

This signing comes immediately after Stauskas recorded a combined 100 points over his last two contests with the G League's Grand Rapids Gold. This kind of production clearly impressed Boston, as they now have committed to him for multiple years. In 14 total games with the team, he had averaged 26.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists.

Stauskas has a nice chunk of overall NBA experience on his resume, too. In 337 career games between the Sacramento Kings, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Heat, he has averaged 6.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. Now, he will have the chance to build on this with the Celtics.
