Detroit Pistons Sign Forward
The Detroit Pistons have signed Braxton Key to a 10-day contract.
Key had his first taste of NBA experience this season, as he appeared in two games with the Philadelphia 76ers. In them, he averaged a point and rebound per contest. The sample size is obviously far too small to cast any real judgment on the 25-year-old. Yet, he will now have the chance to build on it with the Pistons.
The Pistons are in a position where they can take a chance on a rookie like Key. At this point of the season, they have a 19-53 record and are in last place in the Eastern Conference. Thus, there is no risk at all by signing Key. In fact, this destination could be a perfect spot for him to get into some action and help raise interest in his services around the league.
Key has spent the majority of this season with the Delaware Blue Coats, where he has averaged 18.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.
