NBA Rumors: Raptors Refused To Trade Trent Jr. In Blockbuster Deal
According to a new report, the Toronto Raptors turned down the Dallas Mavericks' request of Gary Trent Jr. in a package for Kristaps Porzingis.
Rumors were rife at the trade deadline that Toronto and Dallas were in discussions over Porzingis, but this is the first we've heard of the Mavericks' bold request.
Needless to say, the mention of one of the Raptors' core young players immediately shut down the conversation.

ESPN NBA Insider Tim McMahon told Zach Lowe on The Lowe Post podcast, "My understanding is their discussions there were (Goran) Dragic and Gary Trent. Toronto understandably said 'We're not giving up Gary Trent Jr.'"
GTJ has been a revelation this season for Toronto, with his hounding defense and frequent scoring sprees.
After Dallas was rebuffed, the Raptors sent Dragic to San Antonio for veteran forward Thad Young, while the Mavs found a trade partner for Porzingis in Washington, who sent Spencer Dinwiddie to the Lone Star State.
