Nets' Kyrie Irving Compares Celtics Fans to "Scorned Girlfriend"
Kyrie Irving is still public enemy #1 in Boston. The ex-Celtics guard left the team three years ago but their fanbase hasn't forgotten how things shaped up for the crafty guard during his tenure with the franchise.
Irving and his Brooklyn Nets teammates lost 126-120 to the Celtics on Sunday afternoon and throughout the entire game the fan base let him have it. While it wasn't a surprise for the Nets guard to hear the boos, it was his comments after the game that had people on notice:
I know it's going to be like that for the rest of my career, coming in here. It's like the scorned girlfriend - wants an explanation on why I left but still hoping for a text back. I'm just like, 'It's fun while it lasted. I'm just grateful for my time here in Boston. Everybody in the front office, everybody in the locker room treated me well. I still have lasting relationships in our league
The ol' leave the girl on read trick. Bold move Mr Irving. Here's the highlights from Sunday's contest, you be the judge, was it really that bad?
