New Orleans Pelicans Sign Guard
The New Orleans Pelicans have signed Jared Harper to a two-way contract.
Harper previously appeared in two games with the Pelicans earlier this season, where he averaged 3.5 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. That kind of production isn't bad at all when remembering that only he averaged 5.0 minutes per contest.
Harper has also played in 29 G League games this season with the Birmingham Squadron. He certainly has been a force there, as he is averaging 21.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.0 assists.
Harper is a player who is currently trying to cement himself a permanent spot in the NBA. In 13 career games over the last three seasons between the Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, and Pelicans, he has averaged 0.9 points, 0.2 rebounds, and 0.3 assists. He will be hoping to have more opportunities to play in the sport's most competitive league from here.
Overall, there's no harm in the Pelicans handing out a two-way deal for Harper. It will be interesting to see how often they decide to utilize him while he's signed to it.
