Nuggets Sign Coach To Extension
The Denver Nuggets have signed Michael Malone to a multi-year contract extension.
Malone's contract was set to expire after the 2022-23 campaign, so the Nuggets have made it a point to get him locked up early. This move certainly shows their confidence in him being their head coach.
This news comes while the Nuggets sport a 43-30 record and are sixth in the Western Conference. At this point, they are aiming to be legitimate contenders, so it makes sense that they want to keep their coach around during it.
Malone has been in this role with the Nuggets since the 2016-17 season. At this point in time, he has a 309-237 record and has led Denver to a winning record in each of the last five seasons. Now, he will have plenty of time to help build on his strong tenure with the club.
