Spurs Sign 2 Players
The San Antonio Spurs have signed D.J. Stewart Jr. and Robert Woodard II to two-way contracts.
This news comes immediately after the Spurs promoted Devontea Cacok and Joe Wieskamp to their 15-man roster. This gave them a pair of two-way spots available on their roster, and they wasted no time filling them.
Out of the pair, Woodard II is the one with NBA experience. The 22-year-old appeared in 25 games over the last two seasons with the Utah Jazz. In them, he averaged 1.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.2 assists. Overall, he hasn't necessarily been dominant, but he will now have the opportunity to gain more experience with the Spurs.
Stewart Jr. has been having a very solid season with the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce. In 33 games, he has averaged 18.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. These kinds of numbers certainly grabbed the attention of the Spurs. Now, there's a chance he could end up getting some playing time with their team from here.
Nevertheless, these are two solid depth signings for the Spurs.
