Top Rookie In The West, Josh Giddey To Miss Rest Of Season

A bad break for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and for first-year sensation Josh Giddey. A sore hip has prematurely ended the rookie's season.

“It’s a tricky injury that’s a little unpredictable,” coach Mark Daigneault said, in explaining the shutdown.

How good has Giddey been this year? He's merely won the Western Conference's Rookie of the Month every single month of the season thus far.

The 6th overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft has averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists this season, and at 19 years old, became the youngest player in league history to record a triple-double

Giddey has been out for a month with the hip injury, and with the Thunder not playing for anything but ping pong balls at this point in the season, it makes sense to shut him down at this point with just eight games to play.
