Trail Blazers Keeping Forward Around
The Portland Trail Blazers are set to sign Drew Eubanks to a second 10-day deal.
Eubanks' first 10-day deal ended on Thursday, but the 25-year-old has impressed Portland enough to earn himself another one. In three games with the team, he averaged 9.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 0.7 assists. Overall, he has looked very solid and will now be looking to carry over this momentum on his current deal.
It's been a hectic few weeks for Eubanks. After starting the season with the San Antonio Spurs, he was traded to the Toronto Raptors but then immediately waived. He never suited up for a game with the Raptors, either. In 52 total games on the campaign, he has averaged 4.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists.
It will be intriguing to see how Eubanks performs from here. If he continues to impress, perhaps Portland will opt to give him a contract for the remainder of the season. However, due to the fact that their 15-man roster is full, that scenario would force them to waive another player off it.
