Lakers Ask For Interview With Bucks Assistant Coach
The Los Angeles Lakers are starting to ramp up their head coaching search. While rumors persist about their interest in people like Quin Snyder and Nick Nurse, respected head coaches of the Utah Jazz and Toronto Raptors, respectively, the Lakers are also making actual attempts to talk to assistants that might be available.
Sources: The Lakers have requested permission to interview Milwaukee Bucks assistant Darvin Ham for their head coach opening. Ham served as a Lakers assistant from 2011-13. The team is starting the next stage of the coaching search process.

According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, LA has requested permission to interview Milwaukee Bucks assistant Darvin Ham, who was a former assistant with the Lakers ten years ago.
But Ham is currently a little busy, helping out head coach Mike Budenholzer to steer the Bucks through these playoffs as they try to defend their title. Ham has already been granted permission to interview for the Sacramento Kings' opening, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Ham has been considered one of the top head coaching candidates among NBA assistants for several years, and has interviewed for many openings in the past.
Before his current 4-year run on the bench in Milwaukee, Ham spent 5 years as an assistant with the Atlanta Hawks where he also served under Budenholzer.
The 45-year-old won an NBA title as a bench player for the Detroit Pistons in 2004.
