Lakers Sign Point Guard
The Los Angeles Lakers are set to sign Mac McClung to a two-way contract.
McClung spent this season split between the South Bay Lakers and Windy City Bulls of the G League. In 35 total games, he averaged 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 7.5 assists. It was a very impressive season for the 23-year-old, and he was named G League Rookie of the Year because of his excellent play. Thus, it makes sense that the Lakers are now giving him this two-way deal.
McClung has played in one career NBA game, and that was during this season with the Chicago Bulls. During it, he played for three minutes and recorded two points. With this, he will now be aiming to build on his NBA experience - assuming he is able to land a contract with the Lakers for next season, too.
Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see if McClung's strong play in the G League can translate over to the NBA from here.
