LeBron James Done For The Season
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2021-22 season due to his sprained ankle.
With this, James' season ends at just 56 games played. This is very important to note, as it means that he is not eligible to win the scoring title for this season, as he needed to play at least 58 games to do so. On the season, the 37-year-old averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists. Overall, it was another excellent campaign for the future Hall of Fame but also too short.
Yet, with the Lakers officially out of playoff contention, the results of their last two contests do not matter. It's been a disastrous year for LA, as they were viewed as contenders before it began. Now, with the season just about over, they have a 31-49 record.
With all of this, it makes sense for James to sit out the rest of the year. Instead, he should rest and then begin to prepare for the 2022-23 season.
