Dallas has not made a commitment whether Doncic would be available for Game 1 against the Utah Jazz on Saturday.
This news will certainly keep Mavs fans on the edge of their seats as they continue waiting for more conclusive updates on their franchise star.
Doncic suffered the injury late in the third quarter of their season-finale versus the San Antonio Spurs with Dallas up by 18 points. He came up limping after a drive to the basket, went to the locker room, and did not return to the game.
Fans and analysts criticized the Mavericks for playing the 3-time All-Star in what was essentially a meaningless game with the postseason just right around the corner. Dallas was likely aiming for the third seed, but that didn't happen since Golden State won its season-finale.
The Mavericks will just need to hope for the best as they continue to wait how Doncic's calf strain progresses in the coming days.
This is definitely a tough break for Dallas, which ended up getting homecourt advantage for the first time in the Doncic era after winning 52 games.
