Oklahoma City Thunder Sign Guard
The Oklahoma City Thunder are staying busy, as they have signed Zavier Simpson to a 10-day contract.
This news come shortly after the team signed Georgios Kalaitzakis to a 10-day deal. It isn't surprising to see the Thunder bring in multiple players, as they are currently dealing with an abundance of injuries. Thus, Simpson is getting the chance to play at the NBA level because of it.
Assuming Simpson gets into game action, this will be the beginning of his regular-season NBA experience. He has spent this season in the G-League with the Oklahoma City Blue. In 48 contests, he averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.4 assists. With numbers like these, it is fair to state that he has put together a strong campaign. Now he will be aiming to translate that over to the NBA.
Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see how Simpson performs from here. This is a good opportunity for him to show the Thunder what he is capable of. If he impresses, maybe he will even earn himself an NBA contract for the 2022-23 season from here.
