Masai Ujiri’s Hilarious Message To Lakers About Nick Nurse

So the Los Angeles Lakers are said to have interest in Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse for their coaching vacancy? Well, turns out that Raptors President Masai Ujiri had a hilarious message today for the Lakers: 

“I dream like they dream. I want Messi. I want Ronaldo. I want Kobe Bryant. So they can keep dreaming. I dream too.”

“I dream like they dream. I want Messi. I want Ronaldo. I want Kobe Bryant. They can dream, too." Masai and the assembled media broke out into laughter. 

He also took one more shot at the Lakers just before he left the podium.

Ujiri also confirmed that “no team has contacted me (about Nurse).” 

Nurse is currently signed to a multi-year contract (inked in 2020), and still has two years left on that deal. The coach himself tried to put the rumors to rest on Monday in the bluntest terms possible. 

The 54-year-old Nurse has an NBA championship to his credit in Toronto (2019) and a Coach of the Year award (2020) for taking the Raptors to the 2nd-best record in the NBA in their title defense year. 

After the comments from both Nurse and team president Ujiri, Raptors fans can rest easy that the coach isn't going anywhere. As for Lakers fans... well, they can, and we're quoting, "keep dreaming."
