In exchange, Philly is sending the 23rd pick in the draft, who turned out to be Colorado State's David Roddy, along with Danny Green to Memphis.
Melton is a tremendous addition to the Sixers. In 73 games with the Grizzlies last season, he averaged a career-best 10.8 points and 4.5 rebounds to go along with 1.4 steals.
He gives Philadelphia a terrific 3-and-D option that brings energy and tenacity on the defensive side of the floor.
Melton was drafted 46th overall by the Phoenix Suns back in 2018. The Grizzlies then acquired him in a multiplayer trade a season later.
Philadelphia had another disappointing playoff run, where they lost, 4-2, to the Miami Heat in the conference semi-finals.
