Cavaliers & Kings Strike A Deal Ahead Of NBA Draft

It's just an appetizer for the main course of swapping and dealing that will take place Thursday night, but for now, the Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired the rights to the Sacramento Kings' second-round pick (49th overall) in tonight's NBA Draft, in exchange for a first-team All-EuroLeague forward.

Sasha Vezenkov was the 57th pick of the Brooklyn Nets in the 2017 NBA Draft. His rights were moved to Cleveland along with Jarrett Allen in the trade that brought the Nets James Harden in 2021.

The 6'9" forward had a tremendous year with  Olympiacos of the EuroLeague, winning first-team honors. He can really shoot the ball, as he'd averaged 46% and 43%, respectively, from three-point range in 2020 and 2021.

Vezenkov turns 27 in August.

As for the Cavs, they now have four picks in tonight's Draft, Nos. 14, 39, 49 and 56.
