Hornets GM Shares His Thoughts on Miles Bridges
Reports have been rampant that the Charlotte Hornets were not interested in giving breakout star forward Miles Bridges a "max" contract. The restricted free agent is said to be of great interest to several teams around the league, and if the Hornets don't come with the bag, they may have trouble keeping him.
But Hornets' GM Mitch Kupchak today made it clear just exactly where they stand on Bridges, and he insists they are bringing him back:
“We love Miles. We’re going to bring him back.”

"As an organization, we love Miles," said Kupchack. "We’re going to bring him back. He's been great for the franchise, and I believe with his work ethic, he's only going to get better."
This certainly flies in the face of a report from ESPN's Brian Windhorst that made the rounds as recently as Monday that the Hornets are not offering Bridges a max contract.
Charlotte has the right to match any contract offer he does receive, but teams will usually try to arrange a sign-and-trade first before extending an offer sheet.
