NBA Rumors: 2 Teams Looking To Poach Kevon Looney From Warriors
With his performance for the Golden State Warriors on their way to another title, Kevon Looney has put himself squarely on other teams' radars, as he heads into free agency.
Looney is coming off a 3-year, $14.4M deal, and stands to earn much more than that in free agency. NBA Insider Marc Stein says that the Charlotte Hornets and the Sacramento Kings "are among the teams said to be interested in signing Looney away from the Warriors."
Both the Hornets and Kings are teams that have designs on vast improvements in the coming season, and a rock-solid veteran in the post with a winning pedigree would help.
Looney averaged 6 points and 7.3 rebounds this season, playing a career-high 21 minutes per game. He now owns three championship rings from his 7-year career with the Warriors.
The 25-year-old has also proven to be durable, as he played in all 82 regular-season games this year, as well as every playoff game.
