NBA Rumors: Ainge Will Talk About "Everybody But Donovan Mitchell"
This is shaping up to be a chaotic summer for the Utah Jazz. Rudy Gobert rumors continue to swirl, as well as other trade talks. And according to NBA Insider Marc Stein, with Danny Ainge running the show as CEO, nobody is safe, except for one particular All-Star.
"I think Danny (Ainge) is prepared to do anything. We can talk about everybody in Utah but Donovan Mitchell," said Stein on his Spotify Live chat on Monday.
"I do think (owner) Ryan Smith will listen to Danny Ainge," continued Stein. "I think Ainge will be the one calling the shots. And if he is, you have to expect that they are going to be super aggressive... Anything is possible (except) Donovan Mitchell."
We've heard in previous weeks that "multiple teams" have contacted the Jazz about obtaining Mitchell, but according to what Stein is hearing, Utah wants to retain him and retool around him.
His apparent nemesis, Rudy Gobert, however, could certainly be had. "More people than not around the league will tell you that Gobert is going to be moved," said Stein.
