NBA Rumors: Knicks & Clippers Exploring Trade
The New York Knicks are still trying to open up more cap space to make their big run at free agent Jalen Brunson, and the Los Angeles Clippers are still looking for another center. That combination of needs has the two teams discussing a deal for Nerlens Noel.
Nerlens Noel could fit into the Clippers $9.7M TPE. Such a deal would project the Knicks to generate $24.5M in cap space afterward, allowing them to offer Jalen Brunson up to four years, $105M. https://t.co/83avh3KCY3

According to salary cap expert Yossi Gozlan, shipping Noel's $9.24M contract to the Clippers, and waiving Taj Gibson, will generate $24.5M in cap space, which would allow the Knicks' offer to Brunson to total 4 years, $105M.
It would also mean that current Clippers backup center Isaiah Hartenstein would likely be on his way out of LA, as the Clips are using their $6.4 million taxpayer mid-level exception on John Wall.
