Nuggets Considering Nikola Jovic In NBA Draft — And That's Not A Typo
While play-by-play callers might not like it, who else around basketball wouldn't love to see 19-year-old Nikola Jovic join Nikola Jokic on the Denver Nuggets?
The soundalike of the Nuggets' two-time MVP is expected to go in the NBA Draft somewhere around the Denver pick, at No. 21. The Nuggets had him in for a workout recently.
“I’ve never met him. That’s a thing that I’ve always wanted to do,” Nikola Jovic told the Denver Post when asked about Nikola Jokic. “I hope I’ll meet him soon.”
Jokic's fellow Serbian, Jovic, is a 6'10" versatile wing player, who played for international club KK Mega Bemax, just like his almost-namesake.
Jovic says Jokic is a national hero in his native country, and he is thrilled to considered a possibility to join him. “A dream come true to me, all of this. Especially (working out for) the Nuggets,” Jovic said. “People in Serbia love basketball. For (Jokic) to be the two-time MVP, all the kids now, everybody wants to play basketball. … Everyone is up late to watch him.”
