Knicks Re-Sign Key Free Agent Center
In a move that will make New York Knicks fans quite pleased, the team has re-signed defensive standout center Mitchell Robinson—to an even larger contract than expected.

It's a 4-year, $60M deal for Robinson, who was expected to command somewhere in the $10-$14M per year range. The 23-year-old has topped that, with an AAV of $15M.
It was only last week that Ian Begley of the SNY noted "My read on Robinson and the Knicks at the moment is that the club would feel comfortable matching an offer that’s in the neighborhood of the mid-level exception (projected at $44.5 million over four years).”
Robinson came on last season as a crucial part of the Knicks defense, proving himself to be a strong rim-protector (1.8 blocks/game), as well as averaging 8.5 points and 8.6 rebounds.
Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau loves his defense, and the Knicks needed to bring Robinson back, fending off the advances of the Toronto Raptors and other suitors.
