NBA Rumors: Lakers To Bring In Former Lottery Pick For Tryout

The Los Angeles Lakers are still working the phones to try to arrange for trades to bring in established NBA rotation players. One such discussion involves the Indiana Pacers. But the team is also looking for help by reaching out to veteran free agents—one of whom hasn't been in the league for four years.

A report from Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype suggests that the Lakers are bringing in former 2013 lottery pick Shabazz Muhammad for a workout. He was taken 14th by the Minnesota Timberwolves nine years ago.

We reported this past week that Muhammad, who's been playing in China and the Philippines, already has interest from two teams. He's already worked out for one of them.

In five years in the NBA, he averaged 9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 32% from three-point range.

Others the Lakers have worked out this summer include Derrick Williams and Darren Collison, as they still have one roster spot to fill.
