NBA Rumors: Nets Prepared For Durant & Irving To Start Season In Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Nets are playing hardball. They are not prepared to deal either Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving unless the price is right. At least that's the word being funneled to NBA Insider Shams Charania.

It's entirely possible that this is all part of the negotiating process for the Nets, trying to drive up the price, but Charania said on the @PatMcAfeeShow today that the Nets are operating under the possibility that Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant could be on their roster opening night.

"They're making moves and they're doing things this offseason with, in their mind, the preparation and operation as if they're bringing these two guys back next season."

"They're open to dialogue, and to teams... making offers. But until they get that price threshold met, which I'm told is All-Star type players, a boatload of draft picks... they're not going to move Kevin Durant until the price is met."

The Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat are among the teams making offers to the Nets, with the Golden State Warriors being a team to watch as well.

As for Kyrie, they're not even close to a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers yet, and it certainly appears that the Lakers are the only team in the league that's interested in him.

It seems like the Brooklyn Nets drama could be going on all summer long.
