NBA Rumors: Several Teams Express Interest In Lakers Guard

Who said the Los Angeles Lakers don't have any desirable trade chips? According to a report by Sam Amico of Hoops Wire, it seems there is a young guard in the purple-and-gold that many teams are trying to get their hands on.

Sources said that several rival teams have expressed in Austin Reaves, the shooting guard who is coming off a promising rookie season.

Reaves, the undrafted rookie, was one of the brighter spots of the Lakers' lost season, bringing passion and energy off the bench. He averaged 7.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 23 minutes per game.

The Lakers have other pieces to offer as well, in Talen Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn, though their values on the marketplace are somewhat sketchy.

NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski said this morning on ESPN's Get Up, that the Lakers are still working on ways to obtain a couple of other shooters, namely Eric Gordon of the Houston Rockets and Buddy Hield of the Indiana Pacers. He expects them to "make a deal, maybe more than one deal. It may not be for Kyrie Irving, it may not be for an All-NBA player, an All-Star… I don’t think the Lakers are done.”

Whether they would be willing to spare the promising Reaves in such deals remains to be seen. One thing they definitely know about this kid, is that he likes to work. Hard.

When the team asked him to take a break from his 3-a-day workouts, he replied “F*ck that. I’m gonna work.”
