Nearly Paralyzed in 2021, Former NBA Center To Continue Career
It was scary times in the summer of 2021 for former NBA center Aron Baynes. While playing for his native Australia at the Olympics in Japan, he slipped in a bathroom and injured himself so badly, there were fears he would be paralyzed.
But not only did he recover, he worked out for NBA teams this summer hoping for a way back into the league. He didn't catch on, but he has found a job to play professional basketball again.
Aron Baynes will resume his basketball career in a new deal with the Brisbane Bullets of the NBL, @AgentMoldovan tells ESPN. Contract has an NBA out so he can return to league, which has been his goal after grueling recovery from the freak fall at Olympics a year ago this week.

Baynes has signed on with the Brisbane Bullets of the NBL back in his home country.
Per NBA Insider Brian Windhorst, the contract has an opt out for him to sign with an NBA team, should that opportunity arise.
Baynes last played in the league with the Toronto Raptors in the 2020-21 season. He's played a total of 9 years in the NBA.
