Veteran Big Man Planning To Sign With Wizards
Veteran big man Taj Gibson reportedly plans to sign with the Washington Wizards after getting waived by the New York Knicks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Gibson has spent the past three seasons with the Knicks. In 2021-22, the 6-foot-9 center averaged 4.4 points and 4.4 rebounds.
Gibson is obviously way past his prime, but he still brings toughness, energy, and locker room leadership.
At 37 years old, Gibson is nearing the end of his career. As such, it does seem quite baffling why he intends to join a Wizards team that is nowhere near contention for an NBA championship.
Washington just signed Bradley Beal to a colossal 5-year, $251 million deal. The Wizards still have a roster featuring Beal, Kristaps Porzingis, and Kyle Kuzma that could make a run for a playoff or a play-in spot.
If Gibson wants to win a championship on the way out, the Wizards aren't probably the best destination to choose.
