Warriors To Sign 8-Year Veteran Power Forward
The Golden State Warriors were in need of a little frontcourt depth, after the departures of Otto Porter Jr. and Nemanja Bjelica. As luck would have it, the Oklahoma City Thunder decided they were not interested in paying the $8M owed JaMychal Green this season, and have bought him out, allowing the Warriors to swoop in.
Forward JaMychal Green is finalizing a contract buyout with the Oklahoma City Thunder and plans to sign with the Golden State Warriors after he clears waivers, his agent Michael Hodges told @TheAthletic @Stadium.

After acquiring the 31-year-old Green during a draft pick deal earlier in the offseason, the Thunder really had no intention of actually playing—or paying him. Whether they could deal him to a team in need was unknown at the time, but it turns out that a buyout was needed.
The 6'8" power forward adds some size, defense, and, normally, competent three-point shooting to a roster. Last season in Denver, he only shot 26.6% from beyond the arc, but his 8-year career average is a much more palatable, and helpful, 36.6%.
And with the open looks he should get playing alongside Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, there's a good chance he'll get that percentage back near the 40% mark, where it sat for the previous three seasons.
Overall, a very nice 'backup big' addition for the Warriors.
