Gasol's No. 16 will be raised to the rafters in a ceremony to honor the Lakers legend.
In posting the event on social media, the team called Gasol "a champion, legend, and forever part of the Lakers Family."
He played 18 seasons in the NBA, but Gasol earned both of his championship rings, three of his four All-NBA selections, and three of his six All-Star honors during his time in L.A., which began in 2008 after a trade from the Memphis Grizzlies.
Gasol's 6 1/2 year Laker run was marked by averages of 17.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 blocks. He provided the perfect complement to superstar Kobe Bryant in helping the Lakers to back-to-back titles in 2009 & 2010.
Gasol also won Rookie of the Year with Memphis in 2002.
