NBA Rumors: Kevin Durant Interested In Reunion With Former Teammate
With the Kevin Durant trade talks dragging a bit these days, why not throw a new team into the mix? NBA Insider Ian Begley of SNY says that the Philadelphia 76ers just might be that team.
"As of earlier this week, there were high-ranking members of the Sixers who’ve felt strongly about engaging with Brooklyn on a Durant trade."
Begley posits that any deal with Philly would "almost certainly" have to include the so-far untouchable Tyrese Maxey. He adds that Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle and other players/draft picks would likely need be included.
For anyone wondering if there's some lingering bitterness from KD about the way Harden skipped out of town, both Begley and fellow insider Frank Isola point out that Durant and Harden spent time together overseas recently.
It’s hard to follow at times but yes Kevin Durant would like to play with James Harden, who was in London with Durant around the time Durant met with Nets ownership. (Maybe Harden, an expert at forcing trades, is serving as an advisor.) https://t.co/UnuXdndnSk

Harden is said to view both the Sixers and the Boston Celtics as 'desired landing spots.'
In Boston, Harden would be reunited with Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, who he has a strong relationship with from their days together with USA Basketball and in Brooklyn where Udoka was an assistant coach.
In the meantime, the Nets' asking price is still at ludicrous levels, as evidenced by their recent rumored ask from the Celtics.
