After one season as a Laker, Schröder played for Boston and Houston in 2021-22.

NBA Insider Marc Stein reports that sources tell him Schröder could be back in the Purple & Gold, depending on how the rest of their roster shakes out.
Schröder is back on the free agent market this summer, after having to settle for a mid-level exception $5.9M one-year deal from the Boston Celtics last year. He had reportedly turned down a 4-year, $84M offer from the Lakers earlier in 2021 to pursue free agency.
In his one and only season in LA, in 2020-21, Schröder averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game, but didn't really have the impact the team had hoped.
Now, with Kyrie Irving apparently off the table, and the Brooklyn Nets keeping their team together, the Lakers are back in the market for other point guard options.
