Celtics Sign Former Lottery Pick To Camp Invite
The Boston Celtics have brought in another big man to compete for a role at training camp, signing a local kid, the former No. 9 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Noah Vonleh.
Noah Vonleh's contract with the Boston Celtics is a non-guaranteed training camp deal, a league source tells @celticsblog & @spotrac.

Vonleh's deal won't count against the cap/tax unless he makes the opening night roster. It would then convert to a standard non-guaranteed deal.
The deal is worth $2.46M, but is completely non-guaranteed. It's an Exhibit 9 deal, which means he likely won't be joining the team's G League affiliate if he doesn't make the roster out of camp.
Vonleh is from Salem, just outside of Boston, and has spent seven years in the NBA, with seven different teams; the Celtics will be his 8th.
The training camp contract, as related by cap expert Keith Smith, won't count against the cap and/or tax unless he makes the roster for opening night. He'll be competing for the role as the Celtics' third big man.
The 6'10" forward/center has averaged 4.9 points and 5.1 rebounds over the course of his career; he last played for the Brooklyn Nets in 2020-21.
