Pelicans Sign Free Agent Guard Despite ACL Injury
An ACL injury in a pre-draft workout with the New Orleans Pelicans caused him to go unselected in the 2022 NBA Draft, but now free agent guard Izaiah Brockington has got himself a two-way deal with the Pelicans after all.
Iowa State guard Izaiah Brockington has agreed on a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, his agent Darrell Comer of @_tandemse tells ESPN. Brockington suffered a pre-draft ACL injury, but is working on his rehab and hopeful to return in the 2022-2023 season.

The injury actually occurred just before the draft, causing Brockington to slip out of the second round, where he was expected to be selected. He's still rehabbing his ACL, according to Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, but the hope is that he'll be able to return in-season during the upcoming year.
Brockington, who also had college stops at Penn State and St. Bonaventure, would've likely been a second-round pick without the knee injury. Brockington averaged 16.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals for the Cyclones last season.

Brockington, 23, was a senior last season, and averaged 16.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals for Iowa State. He also had played college ball at Penn State and St. Bonaventure.
The Pelicans now have both of their two-way spots filled, and will enter camp, at this point, with a 15-man roster.
