Surprise Team Nabs Bojan Bogdanovic From Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz have taken the next step in their teardown, sending veteran proven scorer Bojan Bogdanovic out east, to join a quickly improving roster with the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons send Kelly Olynyk and Saben Lee to the Jazz, in a trade that surprisingly does not include a first-round pick heading to Utah.

Bogdanovic, 33, is entering his 9th year in the NBA, and the final year of a contract that will pay him $19M this season. He's averaged 18.4 points the past three seasons with the Jazz, along with 4.1 rebounds, and is one of the top 3-point shooters in the game, with a 39.7% mark with Utah, and 39.2% over his 8-year career.

In Bogdanovic, the Pistons add a solid veteran to a very young and improving team, which can now roll out an impressive starting lineup.

Bogey joins last year's No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham, along with the 2022 5th overall pick Jaden Ivey, Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart in a potential Starting 5.

Jazz CEO Danny Ainge continues to remake his team from top to bottom, and gets a bit of a reunion with center Kelly Olynyk, the veteran center who spent his first four years in the league with the Boston Celtics, Ainge's former team.
