Bruno Caboclo was recently waived from a training camp deal by the Boston Celtics before ever putting on the uniform. He had spent last season playing in Brazil with São Paulo FC, where he was named MVP of the Basketball Champions League Americas Season 3 Finals.
The 27-year-old has played handfuls of games in parts of 7 seasons in the NBA, with four different teams, from the Raptors, to the Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets. He's averaged 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12 minutes per game across 105 contests.
Caboclo was the surprising 20th selection in the 2014 Draft by the Toronto Raptors, and was famously referred to by ESPN Draft Analyst Fran Fraschilla as being "2 years away from being 2 years away," in terms of an assessment on his readiness (or lack thereof) for the NBA.
It's now 8 years later, and Caboclo is still one league away from the NBA.
