All-Star's Name Came Up In Brooklyn Nets Trade Talks With Western Conference Team
The Brooklyn Nets' 2022-23 campaign has been off to a disastrous start. And while they've made their first major change by firing Steve Nash from his head coaching post, there might be more to come.
According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Nets have been in trade talks with a Western Conference contender in order to bring in a veteran shooter to Brooklyn. And among those names that were dangled in discussions included 3-time All-Star Ben Simmons.
Simmons has been having a rough campaign so far, tallying career-low averages of 6.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 7.3 assists on 44.1 percent shooting from the field and 46.7 percent from the freethrow line.
The Nets currently sit at 2-6 on the season, their worst start in the Kevin Durant-Kyrie Irving era.
The drama in Brooklyn doesn't seem to be coming to a halt. After firing Nash, the Nets are reportedly nearing an agreement to hire Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka, who was suspended for having "an improper intimate and consensual relationship with a female member of the team staff."
