Joel Embiid’s Historic Night Is One For The Ages
As the "Fire Doc Rivers" hashtag trended on Twitter this weekend, Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid took it upon himself to personally ensure that his coach was safe, with an incredible performance for the ages.
Joel Embiid followed up his 42-point performance last night with 59 points and a MASSIVE stat line! #BrotherlyLove@JoelEmbiid: 59 PTS (26 PTS in Q4), 11 REB, 8 AST, 7 BLK pic.twitter.com/7bar9acnG4

So yes, Embiid dropped 101 POINTS in 24 hours.
And with his insane stat line of 59 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 blocks, he made NBA history, becoming the first player ever to record 50+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ assists, and 5+ blocks in a game.
'The Process' proceeded to score 26 of the Sixers' 27 points in the 4th quarter. He also joins Wilt Chamberlain and Allen Iverson as the only Sixers to ever score that many points in one game.
Joel Embiid's 59 points marks the 5th best scoring performance in 76ers franchise history:

Allen Iverson - 60 PTS (02/12/2005)

And of course, what would an Embiid story be without a little poke at Ben Simmons? @StatMuse had a little fun comparing Embiid's 59 points in this one game to Simmons' entire season output this year with the Brooklyn Nets. And Simmons came up 12 points short.
