Anthony Davis Injury Could Be Much Worse Than Feared

The news hit the Los Angeles Lakers hard on Monday: Anthony Davis will reportedly be out about a month with his latest foot injury. But a new report indicates that his absence could be much, much longer than that.

Insider Brandon Robinson of Bally Sports says that Davis' injury has some within the Lakers organization fearing that he could be out of action for 2-to-3 months. That would certainly be the death knell to any Lakers playoff hopes.

It could also mean that any desperation trades of their 2027 and 2029 first-rounders to help for this year, would be off the table.

It comes at a terrible time for the team, as they've actually gone 11-7 since their dreadful 2-10 start to the season. Even still, they sit at 13-17 and in 12th spot in the Western Conference. Missing Davis, who'd been playing at an MVP-level, would be too much to overcome.

Davis is having one of the best seasons of his career, averaging 27.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 blocks per game while shooting 59.3% from the field.
