Sixers Waive Guard Despite Filling The Stat Sheet In The G League

Just four days after putting up yet another impressive line of 20 points, 12 assists and 8 rebounds in G League play, point guard Saben Lee has been waived from his two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers to make room for a small forward.

Louis King, 6'7", takes Lee's two-way spot, and has been averaging 20 points a game for the Rio Grand Valley Vipers of the G League. He'd played in 10 games with the Sacramento Kings this season, his 3rd in the NBA, averaging just 10 minutes a game, with 4.5 points and 1.2 rebounds. He's played a total of just 26 NBA games since going undrafted out of Oregon in 2019. He's averaged 4.2 points and 1.5 rebounds in about 10 minutes of action per contest.

Lee signed on with Philly just over a month ago, and has certainly been lighting it up in the G League, as he often does, with 24.6 points, 6.8 assists and 5.8 rebounds in 8 games for the Delaware Blue Coats since the Sixers signed him. It's his 3rd pro season, after two years spent with the Detroit Pistons. Overall, in 87 NBA games, he's averaged 5.5 points and 3.3 assists in about 16 minutes per game.
