Boston Celtics Declare Mutliple Key Players Out For Tuesday's Game Against Miami Heat
The Boston Celtics will be well short of full strength when they take the court against the Miami Heat tonight. Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, Marcus Smart, and Malcolm Brogdon have all been ruled out for the Tuesday night matchup.
The Celtics are on the second night of a back-to-back; they lost to the Orlando Magic 113-98 on Monday night. Horford and Brown both started in the game, but Smart and Brogdon were both inactive. The #Celtics will be SHORT tonight... Good news: Rob Williams is off the injury report.
The Celtics are clearly resting their players as they come to the end of a demanding portion of their schedule. Including tonight, they'll have played six of their past seven games on the road. As gruelling as the travel had been, it hadn't shown up in their record before last night: before Monday's loss against the Magic, the Celtics had won nine straight. Their 35-13 record is the best in the NBA.
After tonight's game, the Celtics return to Boston for a four-game homestand that begins with the New York Knicks on Thursday.
