Dallas Mavericks Guard Luka Doncic Outduels Los Angeles Lakers
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic came alive in the bright Hollywood lights Thursday night. the MVP candidate lifted his team to a 119-115 double-overtime win over the Los Angeles Lakers last night, stuffing the stat sheet with 35 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, one steal, and one block.
Doncic hit 14 of his 28 shots and four of his nine deep attempts. He also left points on the table, missing four of his seven free throws. The big day lifts his points per game to a league-leading 34.3 points. His 9.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists aren't too shabby, either. Oh, and his .501 field goal percentage is also a personal best. The three-time All Star has clearly leveled up this season.Luka Show > Lake Show 🪄

Unfortunately for Doncic, the Mavericks haven't. They're 24-19 this season despite Doncic playing out of his mind. They're still looking for someone, anyone to become the Robin to his Batman. He leads the team in points, rebounds, and assists. Meanwhile, former teammate Jalen Brunson is flourishing with the New York Knicks, scoring 21.9 points per game. His departure in free agency this offseason cuts a little deeper with each passing day.
The Mavericks visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night.
