Detroit Pistons Big Man To Miss "Extended Time"
The Detroit Pistons have lost another key member of the roster for an "extended" period, according to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski. Big man Marvin Bagley III has suffered a hand injury that will keep him out of the lineup for up to two months.

The injury occurred as he was trying to post up during the Pistons’ loss to the Portland Trail Blazers Monday night; it’s now been determined that he’s got two broken fingers and will be out 6-to-8 weeks.
The Pistons this past offseason signed Bagley to a 3-year, $37.5M extension, after having acquired him at the trade deadline last February. He put up 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds in his 14 games in the Motor City at the end of last season. This year, he's producing 10.6 points and 5.9 rebounds in a slightly reduced workload from last year.
The injury, to be honest, is a mixed blessing for the Pistons. Nobody ever wants to see their players get injured, but with the team already sporting the worst record in the NBA at 10-30, and franchise player Cade Cunningham out for the season, the loss of another key rotation player only strengthens Detroit's chances of winning the Victor Wembanyama lottery tankathon.
