NBA Rumors: D'Angelo Russell & Timberwolves To Split?
Things could be getting a little dicey between the Minnesota Timberwolves and point guard D'Angelo Russell. Long the subject of trade rumors this season as a means of fixing what ails the Wolves, Russell has sent out some smoke signals that he may be ready to move on himself.

Russell becomes a free agent after the season, his 4-year, $117M deal having run its course at that point. Sounds like he may be suggesting that he's ready to play it out and "bet on himself" on the free agent market—if he isn't traded first.
The Wolves have been a big disappointment this season, as they sit at 17-21 with the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference. The team is expected to try to do something to shake things up.
But Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns—the club's biggest stars—aren't going anywhere. Gobert, because they'd never be able to recoup the assets they already sent to the Utah Jazz for him; Towns because he isn't trade eligible until after the season; and Ant-Man, because he's the future of this team.
Russell would appear to be the odd man out.
And from his social media activity, it would appear that he's well aware.
