NBA Rumors: Knicks Want To "Do Right By" Veteran, Find Him New Home

The New York Knicks have several names being bandied about the trade market as the deadline approaches, but one player on the block will only be moved if they can find him a good home.

Word from NBA Insider Marc Stein is that the Knicks are open to finding a new home for Derrick Rose, but want to "do right by" the veteran guard, and will only trade him to an "ideal situation."

The former MVP has received 15 DNPs in the last five weeks, and when he does play, is averaging just 12.9 minutes per game, 5.8 points and 1.8 assists. Before dropping out of the rotation this year, Rose had a nice little run with the Knicks for the previous couple of years, shooting over 40% from three and averaging about 13 points per game in about 25 minutes per contest.

He's known as a "favorite" of head coach Tom Thibodeau, but youth in the backcourt has won out this year, with Immanuel Quickley and Quentin Grimes developing into key contributors for the Knicks.
