NBA Rumors: "Several Playoff-Caliber Teams" Interested In Pistons Guard

Most of the talk surrounding the Detroit Pistons on the trade market involves sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic. But the cellar-dwellers do have some other veterans available as well.

The latest rumors surround 11th-year guard Alec Burks, who is off to a very nice start to the season. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, he has some serious interest around the league.

"Several playoff-caliber teams" have reached out to Detroit about the possibility of acquiring Burks. He's merely shooting the lights out this season, with a 44.7% mark from three-point range, a career-high. He's been extra red-hot of late, averaging 19 points over his last seven games while firing from long-distance at a sizzling 60.7% clip

The 31-year-old overall is averaging 14 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists while playing 22 minutes per game. His scoring is up considerably from his past two seasons with the New York Knicks, when he averaged 12.1 points in 27.5 minutes per contest.

Burks is on a $10M contract, with a team option for $10.5M for next season, which the Pistons are expected to exercise, notes Scotto—if he's still around after the trade deadline.

The rebuilding team is extremely happy with Burks' veteran presence, and as noted, his production, so a trade is no slam dunk.

Those "playoff-caliber teams" have four weeks to make their pitch.
