Williamson played 28 minutes in a 120-111 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday but exited late in the game upon injuring his hamstring. He was his typically ruthlessly efficient self up until that point, hitting 10 of his 12 field goal attempts for 26 points while adding six rebounds and seven assists.
Another extended absence would be a disappointing result for the oft-injured one-time first-overall pick. Williamson has played in a mere 114 games since entering the association in 2019. He has been sensational when available, averaging 25.8 points on only 16.4 field goal attempts per game for his career.
Luckily for the Pelicans, they've accumulated plenty of experience gutting games out without Williamson. They clawed their way through the play-in tournament and all the way to the playoffs in 2021-2022 without the forward making a single regular season or postseason appearance. The Pelicans eventually fell 4-2 to the Phoenix Suns in the first round.
