Stephen Curry Goes Off in Golden State Warriors Win Over Washington Wizards
The Stephen Curry that fans love and teams fear was finally back in full force on Monday. Curry was electric in the Golden State Warriors' 127-118 win over the Washington Wizards, scoring 41 points while notching seven rebounds and two assists.
Curry hit 12 of his 28 field goal attempts, including six of 15 from behind the arc. The 41 points were his most since a 50-point outburst in a 130-119 loss to the Phoenix Suns on November 16th, 2022. It was also his first game with more than 25 points since injuring his shoulder in mid-December.38 minutes & balled out 🔥@googlecloud || Player of the Game pic.twitter.com/TlILYMUvDi

Curry has been his typically excellent self when available this season, averaging 29.3 ppg with a .493 field goal percentage and an ever-deadly .421 mark from three. Despite his singular ability as a scorer, the Warriors are 22-22 and in danger of falling into the play-in tournament in the Western Conference. If they can't at least climb to the sixth seed, they'll face long odds of mounting a successful defense of their 2021-22 NBA title.
The Warriors travel to Boston to face the Celtics on Thursday.
